1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using reshaders (the "service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use the service.
reshaders is operated by Revyme, an auto-entrepreneur registered in France (see the contact section below). These terms are governed by French law (Code civil, Code de la consommation) and EU regulations where applicable.
2. The Service
reshaders is a studio for designing animated WebGL backgrounds by layering effects, and for exporting the result as code components, images, GIFs and videos. Rendering happens in your browser; the service provides the studio, the effect library, the export tools and, on paid plans, additional export options.
3. License to Use the Service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for your own personal or business purposes, subject to these terms. You may not:
- Copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the studio, the rendering engine or the effect library
- Extract the effect library, in whole or in part, to build a competing product
- Remove copyright or proprietary notices from the service
- Resell, sublicense or mirror the service
- Use automated means to access the service beyond what the interface offers
This license terminates automatically if you violate these restrictions and may be terminated by us at any time.
4. Your Compositions and Exports
4.1 Ownership
You own the compositions you create in the studio. Exports you generate from them, including code components, images, GIFs and videos, are yours to use in your own personal and commercial projects, without attribution.
4.2 What stays ours
The studio, the rendering engine, the effect library and its individual effects remain our intellectual property. Exported code embeds the parts of the engine needed to run your composition; you may use that code as part of your project, but you may not redistribute the engine or the effect library as a library, product or service of its own.
4.3 Where your projects live
Projects are currently stored in your browser's local storage on the device you use. They are not synced to our servers unless a cloud feature explicitly says so. Clearing your browser data removes them. You are responsible for keeping copies of exports and projects you care about.
5. Account
Signing in to reshaders uses the Revyme account system. One account gives access to both services. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current and complete information
- Keep your credentials secure and accept the risks of unauthorized access
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You are responsible for all activity under your account. Signing out of reshaders also signs you out of the shared account.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the service to create or distribute content that:
- Violates any law or regulation
- Infringes on the intellectual property or other rights of others
- Contains malware or harmful code
- Impersonates any person or entity
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
7. Subscription and Payments
7.1 Plans
The Free plan includes the studio, every effect and media export up to 1080p. The Pro plan adds code export for every framework and 4K media. Pricing is available on our website and may change; we will give notice of price changes for existing subscriptions.
7.2 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or yearly
- Payment is due at the start of each billing period
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your card details
- No refunds are provided for partial months or unused time, except as required by law
7.3 Cancellation
You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and Pro export options remain available until then.
7.4 Right of Withdrawal (French/EU Consumers)
For French and EU consumers: under French law (Code de la consommation, Article L221-18), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal (droit de rétractation) from the date of purchase, except for digital services already fully performed with your express consent. To exercise it, contact us at hello@revyme.com within 14 days.
8. Intellectual Property
The service and its original content, features and functionality, excluding your compositions, are owned by Revyme and protected by international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. The effect library is a curated, original collection; its arrangement, names, descriptions and default settings are part of the service.
9. Third-Party Services
The service links to and integrates with third-party services (for example Stripe for payments). We are not responsible for:
- The content or privacy practices of third-party sites
- Any damages or losses caused by your use of third-party services
- The availability or functionality of third-party services
10. Disclaimers
10.1 Service Availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- That the studio runs on every device or browser; it requires WebGL2
- Any particular visual result, or that an export performs identically on every end-user device
10.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revyme shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages resulting from:
- Your use of or inability to use the service
- Loss of projects stored in your browser
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
- Any bugs, viruses or malware transmitted through the service
- Any errors or omissions in content
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Revyme and its affiliates from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of another party.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice on our website, emailing registered users, and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by French law (Code civil, Code de la consommation), without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules.
13.1 Informal Resolution
Before any legal action, please contact us at hello@revyme.com to attempt a friendly resolution. We commit to responding within 30 days.
13.2 Consumer Mediation (French/EU Consumers)
In accordance with Articles L.611-1 and R.614-1 of the French Consumer Code, French consumers may use a free consumer mediation service. Contact information for our designated mediator is provided on request at hello@revyme.com. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
13.3 Competent Courts
- French consumers: any dispute may be brought before the competent French court of your place of residence or of our registered office
- Business users: disputes are brought before the competent courts of France (Tribunal judiciaire)
- US/California users: nothing in these terms limits your rights under California or US consumer protection law; you may bring disputes in your local jurisdiction
13.4 Consumer Protection
Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights under French law (Code de la consommation), the EU Consumer Rights Directive, or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable or invalid, it will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms stay in full force.
